Deeply in love and absorbed in the culture of their own people, the two daughters-in-law of grandpa Stepan, Maria and Aykanush, also showed great interest and respect even for the spiritual life of the countries in which they spent their youth. Both had refined manners, were fashionably dressed and showed good taste, and both were fascinated by literature and folklore.
       And if we continue to describe the abilities of my grandmother Maria, then it is impossible not to mention her wonderful needlework. We carefully store her embroideries and her colorfully worked letters of the Armenian and Latin alphabets are especially valuable for us.
